As you know, Keira is relatively potty trained. And in the past few weeks, she's been so good that she even wakes up in the middle of the night to tell me that she needs to go "pee pee". You would think that this is a mother's dream..potty trained before the age of two.
Well, here's a new challenge that we've been facing. Every time Ms. Keira is in trouble (has to go to time out) or we ask her to do something she doesn't want to do (like take a shower, go to bed...) she suddenly says, "I have to go poo poo." Now, what can you do with that?
Since she's still in potty training phase, of course, I have to put her on the toilet. She then settles down to read a book, play with stickers, gaze off into space, and there is no poo poo coming out of that one.
Last night, she woke up from a bad dream around 10pm and didn't want to go back to sleep so she started the endless rounds of "I have to go poo poo." After being fooled three times in a row, we had to give her a time out for pitching a tantrum and not wanting to go to bed. She didn't get to sleep until 11pm.
This morning...all is right as rain. Go figure.
There's got to be something in the Nanny books about a child who uses going to the potty as power. Gotta look that one up.... :) Smarty pants little girl.
