It's kind of funny now that we have Keira in our lives. I do things with her that I never got to do as a child. One of those things is watching Winnie the Pooh.
I used to think that Pooh was such a lame little character (keep in mind that I didn't know anything about Pooh because I'd never watched the film)...I just thought he was so sweet, and cute...and well, really, I was more into watching Speed Racer, the Flintstones, the Jetsons...oh...am I dating myself or what?
Just a couple of weeks ago, on a whim, I purchased the original Winnie the Pooh DVD in a grocery store because it was CHEAP. I think that it was only 89 NOK or something...vs. 199 NOK for a DVD. I wasn't exactly sure that Keira would like it, but hey, it was sitting there staring at me at the checkout counter and it was cheap, so why not?
I had very low expectations for the film. I mean, really, a yellow, fuzzy, dorky bear who was probably quite passive (which turned me off)..how exciting could this film be?
This film is a delight. It is creative, clever and entertaining. Keira watches it over and over and over again...and I have to admit, I am drawn into watching it with her. Everytime we watch it, I find little nuances and clever sayings which escaped me before. I get so tickled every time I find something new...it's like, why didn't I hear that before? isn't that cute? isn't that clever?
I highly recommend this film to all young kids. I was so enamored with this film that I even bought Tigger...and that film is just as clever as Winnine the Pooh.
TTFN (ta ta for now!)
